Our Mission
Youth Theater & Improv Workshop is a friendly, welcoming space open to all kids ages 4 through 13. This hour-long workshop is made up of games that will expose kids to the joy of theater, boost their self-confidence, grow their imaginations, and empower them to take creative risks. Each workshop begins with an introduction game to get creative juices flowing, and to ensure that everyone can make a connection with their peers. After these introductory games come the movement-based improv and storytelling games that allow kids to use their imaginations and connect with one another. Workshop ends with a cool down activity to settle energy and regroup before heading out. Whether a child comes to class with an already-formed passion for theater, or wanders in spontaneously with no theater background, this workshop will encourage their creative expression through play. The class is different every time so repeat visits are encouraged! Workshops happen once or twice a month at branches of the New York Public Library all over the city. It is free to all who are interested.
